Semi metallized PET film uses transparent PET as the substrate, and is given good mechanical properties and dimensional stability through a biaxial stretching process. On this basis, the film is subjected to differentiated surface treatments, one side is aluminum-plated after corona treatment to form a functional layer with a metallic texture, and the other side remains in a glossy state. This unique double-sided heterogeneous structure allows the film to have both the functionality of the metal layer and the optical advantages of the glossy layer.
Transformation from substrate to finished product
In the production of semi metallized PET film, biaxial stretching is the key first step. After the PET raw material is made into a thick sheet, it is stretched in both the longitudinal and transverse directions to orient the molecular chains along the stretching direction, thereby improving the strength, rigidity and thermal stability of the film. After the stretching is completed, one side of the film is subjected to corona treatment, and the film surface is activated by high-voltage discharge to increase the surface energy, laying the foundation for subsequent aluminum plating. The aluminum plating process uses vacuum evaporation technology. In a high vacuum environment, the aluminum wire is heated and evaporated into gaseous aluminum atoms, which are evenly deposited on the surface of the corona-treated film to form an extremely thin metal aluminum layer. Although the thickness of this metal aluminum layer is thin, it can give the film special properties.
Double breakthrough in function and vision
The performance advantages of semi metallized PET film are significant. In terms of functionality, the aluminum plating layer can effectively block infrared heat energy and can be used in scenes that require heat insulation; at the same time, it has anti-static properties, which can prevent dust from being adsorbed due to static electricity, and is suitable for fields with high cleanliness requirements such as electronic packaging. In terms of optical performance, its high light transmittance makes the packaging content clearly visible, and unlike general cognition, the light transmittance of the film will increase after metallization treatment. After a period of about one month, the light transmittance tends to be stable, ensuring the consistency of the optical performance of the product during use. The film also has good physical and mechanical properties, is resistant to stretching and puncture, and can maintain stable quality in various environments.
Innovative solutions in multiple fields
With its unique performance, semi metallized PET film has been widely used in multiple fields. In the field of window film, its heat insulation and light transmission properties can adjust the indoor temperature, reduce air conditioning energy consumption, and ensure good lighting effects; when used in electronic packaging, its anti-static and high-strength properties can effectively protect electronic components and prevent electrostatic damage, and its transparent and visible characteristics facilitate product quality inspection and display; in terms of building materials, it can be used as a heat insulation material for building glass film to improve the energy-saving effect of the building, and can also be used for special decorative materials to increase the beauty and functionality of the building. This wide range of applications in different fields highlights the adaptability and innovation of semi metallized PET film.
